Minister Dlamini Zuma, Ban Ki Moon and Sonja Gandhi to Address the First International Day of Non-Violence

New York –South African Foreign Minister Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will on Tuesday 2 October join UN Secretary-General Ban ki- Moon and Sonja Gandhi in addressing the UN’s First International Day of Non-Violence at the UN Headquarters in New York.

The function is organized mainly to mark Mahatma Gandhi’s contribution to the philosophy of non-violence (Satyagraha) developed during his 21 years of stay in South Africa. SA believes that more than ever before Gandhi’s philosophy remains relevant today as it was before.

Minister Dlamini Zuma is in New York leading the South African delegation to the 62nd Session of the UN General Assembly within the context of South Africa’s conviction that the multilateral system of global governance remains the only hope in addressing current challenges facing humanity.
