hold bilateral political and economic discussions with her Portuguese counterpart
Foreign Minister Dr Luis Amado at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
Minister
Dlamini Zuma will hold discussions with her counterpart within the context of
South Africa's commitment to consolidate political, economic and trade relations
with Portugal. Issued on the agenda of discussions are expected to include,
among others: · The status of bilateral political and economic relations
between both countries; · Developments in Africa including an exchange
of views on developments in Mozambique, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo,
Zimbabwe and Guinea-Bissau and East Timor; · Conflict resolution and
post-conflict reconstruction on the African continent; · The implementation
of NEPAD within the context of the G-8 Action Plan; · The South Africa
- European Union Strategic Partnership; · The Africa-European Union
Summit; and · Other issues of global importance including the comprehensive
reform of the United Nations and South Africa's tenure of the Non-Permanent Seat
of the UN Security Council. Minister Amado is expected to depart from
South Africa later on Friday 13 April 2007. Media
