Minister Dlamini Zuma to lead SA Delegation to the SADC Council of Ministers Meeting
Lusaka- South African Foreign Minister Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini will on Tuesday 14 August 2007 lead a South African Ministerial delegation including Ministers Lulu Xingwana and Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula to the SADC Council of Ministers meeting in Lusaka, Zambia.
South Africa is participating in the SADC Council of Ministers Meeting as part of its priority of strengthening and consolidating SADC as a sub-regional economic bloc and a vehicle for achieving sustainable regional integration and development.
The SADC Council of Ministers Meeting is expected to discuss among other issues:
- Food security;
- Integration of SADC;
- Infrastructure and human resource development;
- Tourism related issues focusing on 2010 FIFA World Cup and the Confederation of African Football Tournament scheduled for Angola;
- And the schedule of payments of member states.
Earlier on Monday, South African Ministers Trevor Manuel, Mandisi Mpahlwa, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma and Deputy Minister Rob Davies participated in the SADC Regional Integration Ministers meeting where the issue of economic integration of the SADC Region and the status of the implementation of the Free Trade Area scheduled for 2008 was discussed.
