President Thabo Mbeki congratulates Senegalese President Abdoulaye
Wade on his re election Pretoria - South African President Thabo Mbeki today,
Friday 2 March 2007 expressed South Africa's warmest congratulations to President
Abdoulaye Wade on his successful re- election as the President of the Republic
of Senegal, during the Presidential elections held on 25 February 2007. "
On behalf of the government and peoples of South Africa, I particularly commend
the peoples of Senegal for the peaceful and exemplary manner in which the elections
were conducted. "Indeed these elections were further evidence of the strides
that have been made by the continent in promoting democracy, the rule of law and
