(1) Whether an appeals procedure is allowed with regard to a disciplinary hearing of a locally recruited staff member; if not , why not; if so

(2) Whether a certain person (name furnished) was informed of the procedure; if not why not; if so; when? N520E

REPLY:

(1) Yes, an appeals procedure is allowed with regard to a disciplinary hearing of a locally recruited staff member which is contained in the Foreign Service Code on Management Guidelines.

(2) Yes, Mr Broekman was informed of the procedure in a registered letter to him on 6 June 2006.
