South African Government confirms the death of a South African Citizen in Afghanistan
The South African Government wishes to confirm that one of the two foreigners who were killed in a shoot-out in Kabul, Afghanistan on Saturday was a South African citizen who worked for DHL International.
The next of kin of the deceased has been informed and the Department of Foreign Affairs continues to render the necessary consular assistance to the family.
In this regard the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, on behalf of the Government of South Africa, wishes to express “our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this trying time”.
