Media Accreditation for AU African Diaspora Summit

The South African government will host the African Union–African Diaspora Summit in October 2008.

Accordingly, the South African government will host the AU African Diaspora Summit of Heads of State and Government at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, Gauteng from Friday 10 – Saturday 11 October 2008.

The Summit will be preceded by the AU African Diaspora Ministerial Conference on Thursday 9 October 2008.

The AU African Diaspora Senior Officials Meeting will be on Wednesday 8 October 2008 and the African Diaspora Civil Society Meeting on Tuesday 7 October 2008.

Media wishing to cover this meeting are requested to forward details for accreditation to malawanax@foreign.gov.za and masangod@foreign.gov.za by Friday 19 September 2008 16h00.  Details required:

  • Name
  • Media House
  • Identity №

Accreditation will be live and media will have to present themselves at the accreditation centre (venue to be announced later) with the following documentation:

  • South African Identity Document or Passport
  • Press card or letter from the editor.

Media without the required documentation will not be accredited.

The accreditation centre will be operational from Monday 29 September 2008 08h00 – 17h00.

Unaccredited media will not have access to the conference venue.
