South Africa signs Framework Co-Operation Agreement with Guinea Bissau

New York- South African Foreign Minister Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma on Thursday 25 September, on the margins of the UN General Assembly, signed a Framework Co-operation Agreement between South Africa and Guinea Bissau.

The signing of the Framework Co-operation Agreement with Guinea Bissau lays the basis for bilateral co-operation between the two countries in a variety of areas including Foreign Relations, Trade and Industry, Mining, Defence, Intelligence. The two countries have long standing bilateral relations developed during the struggle against the system of apartheid.

Minister Dlamini Zuma is in New York leading the South African Government delegation to the 63rd Session of the UN General Assembly within the context of South Africa’s conviction that the multilateral system of global governance remains the only hope against challenges facing humanity today.

In this regard, Minister Dlamini Zuma on Thursday addressed the UN Roundtable discussion on Poverty and Hunger as well as the Trygve-Lie Symposium on Fundamental Freedoms: The state-access to information as a driver for social development”

Minister Dlamini Zuma on Thursday further continued with bilateral discussions with her counterparts from China, Austria, Trinidad and Tobago.
