South African Embassy: Harare update

Pretoria- The South African Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Prof. Mlungisi Makalima has welcomed the commitment by the Red Cross in Zimbabwe to supply food, blankets and tents to a group of Zimbabweans who converged on the property of the SA Embassy in Harare on Wednesday 25 June.

The group claiming to be displaced and includes women and children converged on the property of the South African Embassy in Harare seeking refuge from the South African Government.

Since then, Ambassador Makalima and his team of diplomats have been engaged in discussions with both the Zimbabwean authorities and welfare organisations with a view to securing accommodation for the group.
