Department of Foreign Affairs and City of Tshwane to distribute funds to charity organisations

Pretoria – Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Sue van der Merwe and Tshwane Executive Mayor Gwen Ramokgopa will on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the City of Tshwane co-host the International Fair pay-out function on Monday 3 March 2008 at the Presidential Guesthouse in Pretoria where funds will be distributed to charity organisations.

The International Fair pay-out function is the culmination of a process flowing from the 10th International Fair, held on 3 November 2007, which saw the international diplomatic community coming together with the Department of Foreign Affairs and the City of Tshwane to raise funds for charity organisations.

In this regard, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the City of Tshwane are part of South Africa’s efforts aimed at speeding up the eradication of poverty and contributing to a better life for all.
