Nigerian State Visit to South Africa and the Accreditation Requirements

Accreditation for Incoming Nigerian State Visit

South African President Thabo Mbeki will host his Nigerian counterpart Alhaji Umari Musa Yar’Adua on a State Visit to Cape Town, South Africa scheduled from Monday – Wednesday 2-4 June 2008.

President Thabo Mbeki will host President Yar’Adua for discussions at Tuynhuys on Tuesday 3 June 2008.

Media accreditation

Media are advised that accreditation will be required to cover the visit. 

Unaccredited media will not have access to the official engagements on the programme.

Accreditation will be live – ie. journalists must present themselves for photo accreditation cards with the following documents:

  • Press card; and
  • South African Identity Document or Passport.

Media should apply for accreditation in writing to the following email address malawanax@foreign.gov.za with the following information by Wednesday 28 May 2008:

  • Name
  • Identity/passport number
  • Organisation to which you belong
  • Designation.

No late applications will be considered.

A more detailed programme for the visit and venue of accreditation will be made available during the week.
