President Motlanthe to lead South African Delegation to the SADC Organ Troika Meeting in Swaziland
Mababane – South African President and Chairperson of SADC, Kgalema Mothlanthe, supported by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will on Monday, 20 October 2008, attend the SADC Organ Troika Meeting scheduled for Mbabane, Swaziland.
The meeting, convened by His Majesty King Mswati III, is expected to receive and deliberate upon reports on the current political situation in Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo and Lesotho.
In this regard, among others, President Thabo Mbeki, the SADC facilitator in Zimbabwe, is expected to brief the meeting on the ongoing efforts by the SADC facilitation team to help the people of Zimbabwe in their efforts to find a lasting resolution to their political and economic challenges, with specific reference to current negotiations to form a new government.
