SA: Uudate on Thailand- Flight arranged for South Africans Stranded at Bangkok Airport

Pretoria- South African Ambassador to Thailand Douglas Gibson, today Friday 5 December 2008 confirmed that following his consultations with the Vice-President of Thai Airways in Bangkok, a flight has now been organised for South African passengers who were stranded in Bangkok following demonstrations at the local international airport.

The Flight is expected to depart Bangkok at 00h40 (Thai time) on Sunday 7 December and is scheduled to arrive at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg at 06h55 (SA Time) on Sunday. At this stage we will only be able to confirm the number of passengers once all flight arrangements have been finalised with Thai Airways.

The South African Government expresses its gratitude to the Thai authorities for the support provided to the South African passengers during the demonstrations at the airport in Thailand.
