President Thabo Mbeki to hold Discussions with Zimbabwean Political Leaders

Pretoria - South African President Thabo Mbeki, supported by Minister of Provincial and Local Government Sydney Mufamadi, will on Thursday 17 January 2008 pay a working visit to Harare, Zimbabwe where he will interact with members of the Zimbabwean political leadership including the ZANU-PF and MDC.

President Mbeki will visit Zimbabwe within the context of the mandate bestowed upon him by SADC in March 2007 to assist the government and people of Zimbabwe find a political solution to their political challenges.

President Mbeki is expected to return to South Africa later on Thursday 17 January 2008.
