Mr LB Labuschagne (DA) to ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs:

(1) How many ambassadors and other foreign Heads of Mission (a) have asked for an appointment to meet with her Director-General (DG) during the period 1 January to 30 December 2006 (b) have actually met with her DG and (c) are still awaiting confirmation of an appointment to meet with her DG?

REPLY:

(a) 100 Ambassadors and other heads of Missions met with the Director-General; this includes meetings the Director-General had with the following regional groups; Southern Africa, East Africa, North Africa, West Africa, Gulf States, Asia, Middle East and P5 Ambassadors.

(b) No outstanding appointments.
