Deputy Minister Ebrahim Ebrahim holds meetings with senior Cuban Government Officials.

Havana – Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr. Ebrahim Ebrahim, who is currently in Havana Cuba to co-chair the 7th South Africa – Cuba Joint Consultative Mechanism (JCM) Meeting will, today 24th June 2009 hold meetings as follows:

  1. Deputy Minister of  Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, H.E. Ramon Ripoll Diaz; and
  2. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dagoberto Rodriguez Barrera

On 23 June 2009 Deputy Minister Ebrahim Ebrahim opened the 7th South Africa – Cuba Joint Consultative Mechanism (JCM) Meeting expected to end today 24th June 2009, and later interacted with African Group of Ambassadors based in Cuba. Deputy Minister Ebrahim is expected to conclude his visit to Cuba by paying a courtesy call on Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E Marcelino Medina Gonzalez.

The 7th JCM makes provision for the two countries to address issues of bilateral and international concern. In addition, the 7th JCM Meeting takes place against the background of solid bilateral and fraternal relations established during the past 15 years of official diplomatic relations.
