Confirmation of the Release of Four South Africans in Equatorial Guinea

Pretoria: The South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation wishes to confirm the release of four South Africans by the Equatorial Guinea Government into the custody of the South African Embassy in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, today, Tuesday, 03 November 2009.           

The Embassy officials, working together with the families of the four, are in the process of facilitating their return to South Africa. The South African government acknowledges the humanitarian gesture by the government of Equatorial Guinea.
