South Africans detained in Accra released
Pretoria: The Department of Foreign Affairs wishes to confirm that the nine South Africans who were temporarily detained in Accra, Ghana, on Friday 24 April 2009 due to alleged irregularities in their travel documents were released by the Ghanaian authorities on the same day following an intervention by the South African High Commissioner in Accra, Zodwa Lallie. All nine South Africans are accordingly back at their work stations in Accra
The nine are employees are sub-contracted to Vodafone.
