President Jacob Zuma congratulates Namibian Counterpart on his Re-Election

Pretoria – President Jacob Zuma today, 08 December 2009, congratulated the Namibian President, H.E. Hifikepunye Pohamba following his re-lection for a second five-year term in the fiercely contested poll conducted from 27 and 28 November 2009.

President Zuma said: “I wish to convey my warmest congratulations on behalf of the Government of the Republic of South Africa and its people on the occasion of your re-election as President of the Republic of Namibia.”

“I would like to reconfirm my appreciation of the excellent, warm and close relations that exist between our two countries and between its people. It is furthermore my profound wish that these close and brotherly ties will continue to prosper during your new term of Office,” added President Jacob Zuma.
