29th SADC Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government, Democratic Republic of Congo from 07 to 08 September 2009

The 29th SADC Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government and its preceding meetings will be held in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, from 02 to 08 September 2009 as follows:

Media Accreditation

All media practitioners wishing to cover the 2009 Summit should register at the Grand Hotel Grand Hotel along avenue Batetela, Gombe District, Tel: +243 818110003 grandhôtelkinshasa@yahoo.fr and be issued with identification badges. Entrance to the African Union City and other meeting venues will strictly be on such identification.

Please bring your national media card, a letter of assignment from your employer and a letter listing your equipment that you will bring into the DRC. You may also submit your name to the SADC National Media Coordinator or SADC National Contact Point in your country for advance forward to the registration authorities.

Live coverage of Summit Official opening & closing Ceremonies

The Radio Television Nacionale Congolaise (RTNC) will give live coverage to official opening and closing ceremonies of the Summit. They will beam the feed to the satellite from where other broadcasters can downlink for their own cost to use in their respective countries. (RTNC) will also broadcast live in their country. The RTNC will also position a broadcasting van at the Summit venue from where the media practitioners covering Summit could be able to collect feeds if the need arise.
