President Jacob Zuma attends Guinea Conakry Presidential Inauguration Ceremony.

President of the Republic of South Africa His Excellency Jacob Zuma, supported by Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, is attending the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Professor Alpha Condé of the Republic of Guinea Conakry today, Tuesday 21 December 2010.

Professor Alpha Condé won the run-off of the presidential elections which took place on 7 November 2010 and subsequently the Electoral Commission (CENI) released the results on 15 November 2010 declaring Professor Alpha Condé the winner by 52,52%.  
  
President Zuma and Minister Nkoana-Mashabane’s attendance is within the context of consolidating and strengthening the African Agenda.

President Zuma is expected to convey congratulations on behalf of the government and people of South Africa, and on his own behalf, to Professor Alpha Condé on his democratic election as President of Guinea Conakry.
