The South African Government expresses condolences upon learning about the death of the Polish President

The President of the Republic of South Africa, Jacob Zuma, wishes to express, on his behalf and on behalf of all South Africans and Government, his sincere condolences to the Government and the people of the Republic of Poland on the untimely death of the President of the Republic of Poland, His Excellency Mr Lech Kaczyński, and the First Lady, Mrs Maria Kaczyński, including the Head of the Reserve Bank, the Army Chief, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

With news coming through that it is unlikely that there could be survivors in a plane that was carrying more than eighty people, President Zuma also wishes to express his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and friends of the deceased. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the Polish nation during this difficult and trying time.
