President Jacob Zuma extends messages of condolence to the people of Comoros

The President of the Republic of South Africa, H.E. Mr Jacob G. Zuma has learnt with profound sadness the sinking of a Comorian boat, that was carrying over 100 passengers, on 9 August 2011 between the islands of Anjouan and Ngazidja in rough seas. More than 40 people are feared to have drowned in this tragic accident.

Accordingly, President Zuma, on behalf of the Government and the people of South Africa, conveys his heartfelt condolences to President Ikilillou Dhoinine, the Government and the people  of Comoros, especially to the families of the deceased.

President Zuma said: “Our thoughts and prayers during this month of Ramadan are with you in this time of mourning and sadness.”
