South African Government confirms death of three South Africans in the MONUSCO Plane Crash

Pretoria - the South African Government has been informed by its High Commission in Democratic Republic of Congo of the confirmation of the deaths of three South Africans in a UN plane crash on Monday, 04 April 2011.

It has also been established that all 29 passenger on board have died. In this regard, the South African Government extends its thoughts and prayers to those families who lost their loved ones during this tragic incident.

International Relations and Cooperation Consular services will provide the bereaved families with the necessary consular assistance with particular reference to the repatriation of the mortal remains back to South Africa.
