State Visit to France by President Jacob Zuma of South Africa, (Paris, 2 and 3 March 2011)

President Jacob Zuma will undertake a state visit to France on 2 and 3 March 2011 at the invitation of the President of the French Republic, Mr Nicolas Sarkozy.  President Nicolas Sarkozy previously paid a state visit to South Africa in February 2008.

During their meeting at the Elysée Palace, the two Heads of State will hold in-depth discussions both on bilateral relations and global issues. The strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries through regular consultations and high level exchanges will receive particular attention. South Africa plays a major role on its continent and within multilateral bodies. Furthermore, South Africa is a G20 member. Therefore the main international and economic issues as well as the priorities of the French G20 Presidency and South Africa's hosting of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, will also be discussed in detail.

During his two-day visit, President Zuma will also meet with the French Prime Minister, Mr François Fillion and will be received by the Presidents of both Houses of Parliament, as well as the Mayor of Paris. President Zuma will be supported by a strong business delegation and will participate in the opening of the France-South Africa Business Forum."=====

====="Le Président de la République recevra M. Jacob Zuma, Président de la République d'Afrique du sud, le 2 mars, à l'occasion de sa visite d’Etat en France. Le président Nicolas Sarkozy s'était  rendu en visite d’Etat en Afrique du sud en  février  2008.

Lors de leur entretien au Palais de l'Elysée, les deux chefs d’Etat auront des échanges approfondis sur tous les sujets d'intérêt commun. Les relations bilatérales et le renforcement de notre partenariat stratégique seront particulièrement abordés. Membre du G20, l'Afrique du Sud joue un rôle majeur sur son continent et dans les enceintes multilatérales. Les principaux dossiers internationaux et les enjeux globaux seront donc aussi au coeur des entretiens, en particulier les priorités de la présidence française du G20 et l'accueil par l'Afrique du Sud de la 17ème Conférence des Etats parties à la Convention des Nations Unies sur le changement climatique.

Au cours de sa visite de deux jours, le président Zuma aura un déjeuner avec le Premier Ministre et sera reçu par les Présidents des deux Chambres, ainsi que par le Maire de Paris. Il  participera à l'ouverture du forum franco - sud-africain des affaires."=====
