Deputy Minister Fransman to brief AU Peace and Security Council on Madagascar

The Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr Marius Fransman, is scheduled to brief the African Union Peace and Security Council on developments in Madagascar. The briefing is scheduled for 07-08 December 2011 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Deputy Minister Fransman was invited by the African Union Commission in his capacity as President Jacob Zuma’s special envoy to the mediation efforts in Madagascar.

Deputy Minister Fransman’s interaction with the AU Peace and Security pertains to developments in Madagascar since the establishment of the government. South Africa Chairs the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ on Politics, Defence and Security.
