Deputy Minister Marius Fransman to attend the inaugural meeting Africa-Turkey
Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr Marius Fransman, will attend the inaugural meeting of Africa-Turkey scheduled for 16 December 2011 in Istanbul, Turkey.
Deputy Minister Fransman’s attendance comes within the context of promoting the African Agenda and South-South Dialogue.
The forthcoming Ministerial meeting will largely focus on concrete deliverables in terms of the implementation plan for 2010-2014.
The Ministerial meeting will also accentuate closer trade and investment opportunities between Africa and Turkey as well as creating market to African products entering Turkish markets.
The First Africa-Turkey Summit was held from 18-21 August 2008 in Istanbul, Turkey with the adoption of the Istanbul Declaration and the Framework for Cooperation, accompanied by an implementation and follow-up mechanism.
Furthermore, the Turkish government is expected to create scholarship opportunities for African students in variety fields.
