Deputy Minister Ebrahim to undertake a two nation working visit to the Middle East and Asia

The Deputy Minister of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr Ebrahim Ebrahim, embarks on a two nation tour to the Middle East and Asia. The objective of the visits will be to exchange views on enhancing bilateral cooperation between South Africa and the regions on areas of economic cooperation; Trade; Tourism and Investment; stability and development. 

Deputy Minister Ebrahim Ebrahim will also use this occasion to attend the 4th session of the South Africa/Saudi Arabia RSA-KSA Joint Economic Commission from the 28th to 30th of April 2012.

Countries to be visited include Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan.

During the course of the visits Deputy Minister Ebrahim is expected to meet with the Defence Minister of Saudi Arabia; the Consultative Council of Saudi Arabia; Deputy Ministers and other senior government officials of the respective countries.

Deputy Minister Ebrahim will also attend Freedom Day Celebrations organised by the South African Embassy in Riyadh on 27 April 2012.

In this regard, the visits will strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations between these countries while continuing to seek opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation towards addressing both countries’ national priorities.
