President Zuma to visit Benin on AU Business

President Jacob Zuma will visit Cotonou, Republic of Benin, for a two-day meeting of African Heads of State and Government convened by the new Chairperson of the African Union, His Excellency President Boni Yayi of Benin, scheduled for 18 – 19 February 2012.

The meeting will focus on, amongst other things, implementation of the decisions of the AU Summits, exploring mechanisms for capacity building within the AU, continental economic integration and political unity.

The meeting follows the recent 18th Assembly of Heads of State and Government hosted in January 2012 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where President Yayi was elected to the rotating position of Chairperson of the AU.
