President Zuma sends condolences to the Republic of Congo

On behalf of the Government and people of South Africa, His Excellency President Jacob Zuma has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of the Republic of Congo following the recent blast at an arms depot that is reported to have claimed the lives of more than 150 people and left many others injured.

President Zuma said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Government and the people of the Republic of Congo during this difficult time of mourning. In particular, we mourn with the families and friends that have lost loved ones as a result of this tragedy. We wish the injured a speedy recovery.”
