President Zuma sends condolences to the United Republic of Tanzania

His Excellency President Jacob Zuma has, on behalf of the Government and people of South Africa, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of United Republic of Tanzania following the accident at sea of the MV Skagit with 250 passengers, resulting  in death and injuries.

President Zuma has also expressed his support to the Government and people of the United Republic of Tanzania in their continued efforts to rescue the survivors and indicated South Africa’s readiness to assist where possible. President Zuma also wished the injured a speedy recovery.
