BRICS Summit road show to take place in Mpumalanga

As part of the build up to the 5th BRICS Summit, to be held in Durban from 26-27 March 2013, the Minister of Public Enterprises, Mr Malusi Gigaba, who also serves as a member of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on BRICS, will address the Mpumalanga Province’s BRICS Summit roadshow on 18 March 2013.

The purpose of the road show is to raise public awareness around the importance of South Africa’s membership of the BRICS and the benefits thereof. Similar road shows have already taken place in provinces such as Limpopo, Gauteng, North West, Northern Cape, Western Cape and Eastern Cape.

BRICS is an acronym for the powerful grouping of the world’s leading emerging economies, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The BRICS mechanism aims to achieve peace, security, development and cooperation.
