5th BRICS Summit Media Arrangements

All members of the media that are accredited to the 5th BRICS Summit are requested to pay attention to the following arrangements:

1. Accreditation

The accreditation centre is at Hall 6, Durban Exhibition Centre, Walnut Street, opposite the Durban ICC. Members of the media can collect their accreditation cards from 22 March 2013 between 06h00 and 22h00.

2. Media facilities

The South African Broadcast Corporation (SABC) will be the host broadcaster for the Summit, providing clean audio and visual feeds to other broadcasters.

Interpretation will be available in four languages: English, Mandarin, Portuguese and Russian.

Print media workstations, a broadcast centre and positions for live crossings are allocated at the venue.

A pool system will be used for audio and video. As a result, individual media houses will not have access to the plenary venue. The SABC will provide the feed to all media at the broadcast centre.

3. Zimbali lodge event

The BRICS Leaders’ retreat with African leaders will take place at the Zimbali Lodge.

Due to severe restrictions on the space available at the venue, members of the media are urged to remain at the ICC and follow developments at Zimbali via a live feed that will be provided to the Broadcast Centre and the print media workstations.

4. Photography

For all bilateral meetings, photo opportunities will be restricted to official media only. Other photo opportunities will be open to accredited photographers.

Pool photos will be for downloading (free of charge) on the BRICS website. The photos will be available on this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/brics5/
