President Zuma arrives in N'Djamena, Republic of Chad, for the ECCAS Extraordinary Summit
His Excellency Mr Jacob Zuma, President of the Republic of South Africa, has arrived in N'Djamena, the Republic of Chad, where he is leading a South African delegation to the Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), scheduled for 03 April 2013.
President Zuma was invited to the Summit by the Chairperson of ECCAS, His Excellency Mr Idriss Deby Itno, President of the Republic of Chad.
President Zuma's delegation includes the Ministers of International Relations and Cooperation (Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane), Defence and Military Veterans (Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula) and State Security (Dr Siyabonga Cwele).
It is expected that the ECCAS Extraordinary Summit will consider ways of restoring constitutional order in the Central African Republic in accordance with the decisions taken by the African Union Peace and Security Council (PSC).
In line with the AU and the United Nations, South Africa calls on the international community to remain actively engaged in the promotion of peace, security, democracy and good governance in the CAR and the region.
