Minister Nkoana-Mashabane to embark on an outreach programme in the Eastern Cape

The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, together with the Premier of the Eastern Cape, Ms Noxolo Kiviet, and the Executive Mayor of Buffalo City Metro Municipality, Cllr Zukiswa Ncita, will undertake a Public Participation Programme in the Eastern Cape.

Minister Nkoana-Mashabane will take the opportunity to reflect on the milestones and challenges of South Africa under the theme: “Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Democracy and Freedom”

The objectives of the Minister’ Public Participation Programme are:

  • To popularise South Africa’s foreign policy and the mandate of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation
  • To make a significant contribution to the development of humanity and establishing a more equitable and fair world
  • To promote the African Agenda and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Organisation of African Unity/African Union (OAU/AU)
  • To reflect on the implementation of the National Development Plan (Vision 2030), industrialisation and expansion of South Africa’s economy for the creation of sustainable employment opportunities and youth empowerment
  • To honour the business community, global investors and partners
  • To ensure that a mutually beneficial engagement is established between DIRCO and all government departments and agencies, organised labour business, civil organisation, the academic fraternity, faith-based organizations, the media, and members of the public
