MR RA LEES (DA-KZN) TO ASK THE MINISTER OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND COOPERATIONS:
(1) Were there any foreign (a) politicians or (b) diplomats on board of the private aircraft which landed at Waterkloof Air Force Base on 30 April 2013; if so, (i) what are the details of such persons and (ii) on what grounds did they enter South Africa?
REPLY:
(1) The High Commission of the Republic of India in Pretoria failed to furnish the Department of International Relations and Cooperation with a diplomatic note pertaining to the landing of a chartered commercial aircraft at Waterkloof Air Force Base on 30 April 2013. In light of the above the Department of International Relations and Cooperation had no knowledge of:
(a) politicians on board a chartered commercial aircraft that landed at Waterkloof Air Force Base; or
(b) diplomats on board a chartered commercial aircraft that landed at Waterkloof Air Force Base.
