Mr C D Matsepe (DA) to ask the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation:
- Did the relevant desk official request a legal opinion from the state law advisors to determine if the recent signed nuclear agreement with Russia is in line with international law; if so, what are the details of this legal opinion;

In order to respond accurately to this question, further information is sought from the requester on the agreement which is referred to, including the title of the agreement, signed with the Russian Federation. Further clarity is also sought on which Department’s relevant desk official, the requester is referring to.

- Did the Office of the Chief State Law Advisor receive (a) a draft text of the President’s minute, (b) an explanatory memorandum of the agreement, (c) the final text of the agreement, (d) a copy of the legal advice of the Department of Justice and Correctional Services and (e) a copy of the legal advice of the Office of the Chief State Law Advisor in her department; if so, on what date or dates were the specified documents received respectively?
