(a) With reference to the Minister of Home Affairs’ reply to question 1342 on 2 October 2014, how many times has His Holiness the Dalai Lama submitted a visa application to any of the foreign missions to enter the country in the past 18 months and (b) what were the reasons for these applications not being processed by officials of her department in each case?
REPLY:
a) In the past 18 months, His Holiness the Dalai Lama submitted one visa application to enter the country.
b) The applicant withdrew the application before it was processed.
