President Zuma congratulates President Roch Marc Christian Kabore on his election as the President of the Republic of Burkina Faso

On behalf of the Government and people of South Africa, H.E. President Jacob Zuma has congratulated President Roch Marc Christian Kabore on his election as President of Burkina Faso, following the Presidential Elections held on 29 November 2015.

President Zuma further congratulated the people of Burkina Faso for conducting a peaceful, transparent, credible, free and fair election, as declared by the African Union and ECOWAS election observer teams. The President also commended all other candidates who immediately accepted the results, thus showing commitment to democratic principles.

President Zuma expressed his commitment to continue working closely with President Kabore to enhance the good bilateral relations which exist between South Africa and Burkina Faso.
