South African Government condemns terrorist attacks in Denmark

The South African Government joins the international community in strongly condemning the terrorist attacks on 14 and 15 February 2015, at two venues in Copenhagen that claimed the lives of two people and injured five police officers.

The South African Government has taken note of and supports the United Nations Secretary-General’s strong condemnation of the shooting attacks at a freedom of expression event and near a synagogue and reiterates its stance that terrorism in any form and from whichever quarter cannot be condoned. South Africa stands firmly with the international community by unequivocally condemning all terrorism. South Africa will continue to support regional and international efforts to address the scourge of terrorism in all its forms.

The South African Government extends its deepest condolences to the Government and people of Denmark, especially the victims of the attack and their loved ones.
