Deputy Minister Landers arrives in Ireland to co-chair the 4th SA-Ireland partnership

Deputy Minister Luwellyn Landers arrives in Ireland-Dublin where he will co-chair the 4th South Africa-Ireland partnership with his counterpart on the 26 November 2015.

The South Africa-Ireland partnership is the structured mechanism to manage and monitor bilateral relations between the two countries. It was established in 2004 through the signing of a Declaration of Intent aimed at placing bilateral relations on a coherent and structured footing and meets biennially.

The 4th South Africa-Ireland partnership is an opportunity to reconfirm the good relations between South Africa and Ireland which stem from long standing friendly ties.  During the forum, the two Ministers will update each other on domestic developments in their respective countries. In this regard, Deputy Minister Landers will brief his counterpart on the South African Government's priorities which include the National Development Plan (NDP) and the 9 Point Plan (SONA 2014) as well as encourage trade and investment in South Africa focusing on other areas such as tourism, science and technology and energy.
