Minister Nkoana-Mashabane to honour Ms Charlotte Maxeke during an International Women’s Day event

International Relations and Cooperation Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane will use the occasion of an event marking the 2015 International Women’s Day to honour struggle heroine Charlotte Maxeke. The Minister is also expected to hand over computers to the Charlotte Maxeke Secondary School and the Wilberforce Community FET College. Through the event, the Department of International Relations and Cooperation aims to popularise government objectives in relation to women’s empowerment since 1994, reflecting on the role women play locally and internationally in promoting South Africa’s national interests.
