President Zuma congratulates the new President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
On behalf of the Government and people of South Africa, H.E. President Jacob Zuma has congratulated General Muhammad Buhari on his election as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, following the Presidential Elections held on 28 March 2015.
President Zuma expressed his commitment to working closely with President Buhari to enhance the good bilateral relations which exist between South Africa and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, paying particular focus on the strengthening of economic cooperation.
In his message, President Zuma also congratulated the people of Nigeria for conducting a peaceful, transparent, credible, free and fair election as declared by the Independent National Election Commission of Nigeria.
