Deputy Minister Landers arrives in Uruguay
International Relations and Cooperation Deputy Minister Luwellyn Landers arrived in Montevideo, in the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, on 01 March 2015 ahead of his official visit schedule for 02-03 March 2015.
The Deputy Minister is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with his counterpart, Jose Lius Cancela, and is also expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Establishment of a Bilateral Consultation Mechanism between South Africa and Uruguay. This MoU is important for the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Uruguay regards South Africa as a gateway into Africa, with the country having only two Embassies on the continent, namely Pretoria and Cairo.
