South Africa condemns terrorist attack in Yemen


The South African Government condemns in the strongest terms, the terrorist attack against a police academy in Sana'a, Yemen on 07 January 2014.

South Africa supports the call by the United Nations that the perpetrators and those who planned the attack must be brought to justice.

Furthermore, South Africa Government reiterates its stance that terrorism in any form and from whichever quarter cannot be condoned. South Africa stands firmly with the international community by unequivocally condemning all terrorism and will continue to support regional and international efforts to address the scourge of terrorism in all its forms.

In this regard, the South African Government calls on all Yemenis and the international community to continue working together to fight terrorism and to bring stability back to Yemen.
The Government and people of South Africa express their condolences to the families of the victims and wish all those wounded a speedy recovery.
