President Zuma congratulates President-Elect Patrice Talon on his election as the President of the Republic of Benin
On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of South Africa, H.E. President Jacob Zuma congratulates President-Elect Patrice Talon on his election as President of the Republic of Benin, following the second round of the Presidential Election held on 20 March 2016.
President Zuma further congratulates the people of the Republic of Benin for conducting a peaceful election, as declared by the African Union (AU) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) election observer teams and the results announced by the Independent Election Commission (CENI) of the Republic of Benin.
President Zuma expresses his commitment to continue working closely with President-Elect Talon to enhance the good bilateral relations which exist between the Republic of South Africa and the Republic of Benin, putting particular focus on the strengthening of economic cooperation.
