Deputy Minister Landers to host Cuban First Deputy Minister Medina Gonzàlez

The Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr Luwellyn Landers, will host the First Deputy Minister of Cuba, Mr Medina Gonzàlez, in Pretoria and Johannesburg from 23 to 24 May 2016. The visit takes place at the time when the two countries celebrate 20 years of formal bilateral cooperation.

South Africa and Cuba have maintained longstanding relations dating back to the struggle against apartheid and colonialism in the sub region of Africa, in whose defeat Cuba played a vital role.

Several events will take place in Pretoria and Johannesburg to mark the 20th anniversary of formal bilateral cooperation between South Africa and Cuba.
