President Zuma sends condolences to the Republic of Indonesia following a deadly earthquake

President Jacob Zuma has today, on behalf of the Government and the people of South Africa, extended the country’s deepest condolences to Indonesia following a 6.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Indonesia’s Aceh province on Tuesday, 06 December 2016, killing nearly 100 people.

President Zuma said: “I wish to extend our condolences to H.E President Joko Widodo, the Government and the people of Indonesia. The people of South Africa share the pain and loss of the loved ones, their homes and property, and our thoughts and prayers go out to all the affected families. We also wish the injured a speedy recovery.”
