President Zuma extends a message of condolences following a building collapse in Nairobi, Kenya

President Jacob Zuma, on behalf of the Government and the peoples of South Africa, extend the country’s deepest condolence to President Uhuru Kenyatta and the people of Kenya for the loss of lives following the building collapse in Nairobi.

On 29 April 2016 a seven story residential building in Huruma Estate, Nairobi collapsed claiming the lives of 23 people.  President Zuma express sincere gratitude to the men and women forming part of the operations that resulted in the rescue of 123 persons and furthermore wishes to extend the people of South Africa’s solidarity to the families and love ones of the 95 persons still missing.

South Africa wishes a speedy recovery to the injured and extend its prayers to all affected families.
