Minister Nkoana-Mashabane to host the Gertrude Shope Annual Dialogue Forum on Conflict Resolution and Peace-Making
In honour of Women’s Month, the media are invited to the Gertrude Shope Dialogue Forum on Conflict Resolution and Peace-Making themed: “Women in Conflict Resolution and Peace Building.” The event will take place on 11-12 August 2016 at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation.
The Dialogue Forum will consist of three Discussion Panels related to the Nordic, African and South African experiences in peace-building, followed by a graduation ceremony of the Women’s Capacity Building Training Programme on Conflict Resolution, Negotiation and Mediation. Sixty women have undergone this training which coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Women’s March to the Union Buildings.
International Relations and Cooperation Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane will address the opening of the Forum on 11 August. The Minister will also deliver a statement entitled: “60 years of leadership: The role of women moving South Africa, Africa and the world forward," on 12 August 2016.
